Herons in Hyde Park
Heron walking along the wall of the Serpentine Bridge, with Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s The London Mastaba (2018), a temporary sculpture made from over 7,500 painted barrels, in the background on the lake. I like the bottom photo where the heron looks like it’s about to eat the paddleboat. A mastaba is an Egyptian tomb shaped like a pyramid but without the pointy bit on top, usually made of mud brick.
